Young Parent Program

Supporting young parents in their journey!

The Young Parent Program is a free program available to young parents (under 24, with children aged six and younger) in Burnaby.  This program offers one-on-one support with an outreach worker. Services are offered in the community and/or in home; to support healthy family functioning and connection with the community, through a child centered approach to foster safety, stability, and well-being for families.

Through hands-on learning and guided discussions, clients may explore educational research-based topics, such as:

  • Ages & stages of child development

  • Positive Parenting

  • Discipline vs. punishment

  • The effects of family conflict on children

  • Healthy Co-Parenting practices

  • And more…

The Young Parent Outreach Worker may also connect clients with local resources and services, making it easier to navigate the community supports available.

We are excited to launch our very first The Village – Young Parent Group.
