United Way Support for BFL’s School’s Out Summer Camp
Building Brighter Summers
Are you a newcomer family looking to make lasting connections for your child?
BFL is offering a free summer camp program where children will participate in activities around creating connections and learning about the community of Burnaby!
Over the past three years—Burnaby Family Life has been proud to receive funding from United Way BC to deliver our BFL’s United Way School’s Out Summer Camp. This support has allowed us to expand access, remove barriers, and provide meaningful summer experiences for children and families in our community.
This program is intentionally designed to support children’s growth and well-being through United Way’s 5 Outcome Domains:
Identity Development
Social and Relational Well-being
Community and Land Stewardship
Health and Wellness
Skills and Competencies
Thanks to the generous support of United Way BC, we have been able to offer free spaces for families in the Edmonds community, ensuring that more children can participate regardless of financial barriers.
Children must be between the ages of 6 -12 and identify as a newcomer to Canada to participate.
Each child can only register for one session of camp.
Session 1: July 6-July 17
Session 2: July 20-July 31
Session 3: August 4- August 1
Camp runs 9am-3pm Monday through Friday (no program on stat holidays). Lunch provided daily.
Location: Edmonds Community School at 7651 18th Avenue, Burnaby.
