Our Family Life Education programs encourage individuals, parents and families to develop healthy and caring relationships by providing education and support.

We provide a variety of education and support programs for individuals and parents to create healthy and supportive environments for themselves and their families.

Calm & Confident Parenting

Wednesdays

Starting January 7th (8 sessions total) - 12:30pm-2:30pm

Location: 6140 McKercher Avenue, Burnaby

In these sessions, you'll gain invaluable insights into cultivating life-long skills and positive habits for your preschool and elementary school-aged children. The discussions will cover a wide range of themes. Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program. Snacks and bus tickets are also available.

Circle of Security

Mondays

Starting January 12 (8 sessions total) 1:00pm-3:00pm *no program February 16

Location: 6140 McKercher Avenue, Burnaby

Circle of Security is an evidence-based parenting program designed to strengthen the parent-child relationship by enhancing caregivers’ understanding of their child’s emotional needs. Grounded in attachment theory, this course guides caregivers in recognizing and responding to their child’s cues in ways that build secure attachments. By the end of the program, participants gain practical insight into their child’s behavior and emotional world, leading to stronger, more responsive relationships that foster healthy development. Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program. Snacks and bus tickets are also available.

Curious Minds

Wednesdays

Starting March 4th (4 sessions) 12:30pm-2:30pm

Location: 4535 Kingsway, 5th floor

Fridays

Starting March 6th (4 sessions) 12:30pm-2:30pm

Location: Edmonds Res. Centre, #205-7355 Canada Way

Join us for this program to explore the world together with your children through science experiments, baking, creative reading and writing, music and movement. Suitable for children 2-6 years of age. Parents must attend with child.

Immigrant Women Support Group

Fridays

Starting January 9th (10 sessions) 9:30am-11:30am

Location: Pioneer, 5th floor, 4535 Kingsway

Come and meet other immigrant women who share similar experiences and learn about community resources, jobs, education system, healthcare system, etc., while sharing your stories in a safe and supportive environment. Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program. Snacks and bus tickets are also available.

Parenting Pre-Teens

Tuesdays

Starting January 13 (8 sessions) 12:30pm-2:30pm

Location: 6140 McKercher Avenue

Join us in a safe and welcoming space for engaging and informative sessions where you will learn about how to connect with your school-age child (7 - 12 years). Pre-teen age is a extremely sensitive period in a child’s life, which can be very stressful for both child and a parent.

Parenting for Immigrants

Thursdays

Starting January 15 (8 sessions) 12:30pm-2:30pm

Fridays

Starting January 9 (8 sessions) 12:30pm-2:30pm

Raising children in a new country is a difficult task. Come and learn useful information on child development, the Canadian school system, child-care options, positive discipline, healthy nutrition and much more. Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program. Snacks and bus tickets also available.

Nobody is Perfect Korean

Mondays

Starting January 12 (8 sessions) 9:30am-11:30am *no program February 16

Location: 6140 McKercher Avenue

This program is designed to help you get to know your child better while equipping you with valuable skills and tools to boost your confidence as a parent. It's essential to remember that none of us are perfect – we all have our challenges. Nobody's Perfect!! Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program. Snacks and bus tickets are also available.

Single Mother Support Group

Wednesdays (ongoing) 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Location: 6140 McKercher Avenue

Saturdays (ongoing) 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Location: 6140 McKercher Avenue

Come and meet other single moms, connect with resources, share stories and support in a friendly space while enhancing your independence. Free childcare is available. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program.
