Our Family Life Education programs encourage individuals, parents and families to develop healthy and caring relationships by providing education and support.

We provide a variety of education and support programs for individuals and parents to create healthy and supportive environments for themselves and their families.

Calm and Confident Parenting

Wednesdays

Starting July 22nd (7 sessions total) 1:00pm-3:00pm

Location: Pioneer, 5th floor, 4535 Kingsway

In these sessions, you'll gain invaluable insights into cultivating life-long skills and positive habits for your preschool and elementary school-aged children. The discussions will cover a wide range of themes. Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. Snacks and bus tickets are also available.

Curious Minds - (Prepare for Kindergarten)

Thursdays

Starting July 30th (6 sessions) 9:30am-11:30am

Location: Edmonds Res. Centre, #205-7355 Canada Way

*Special Session, Open to children 3-5 years old only

A supportive program to explore play, emotions, discipline, and hands on activities with young children. Learn practical ways to support your child(ren)’s development through play, exploring, and daily routines. Parents must attend with child. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program. Snacks and bus tickets are also available.

Immigrant Family Support Group

Fridays

Starting July 17th (10 sessions) 9:30am-11:30am

Location: Pioneer, 5th floor, 4535 Kingsway

Come and meet other immigrants who share similar experiences and learn about community resources, jobs, education system, healthcare system, etc., while sharing your stories in a safe and supportive environment. Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program. Snacks and bus tickets are also available.

Everyday Family Life

Wednesdays

Starting July 22nd (9 sessions total) - 9:30am-11:30am

Location: Pioneer, 5th floor, 4535 Kingsway

Everyday Family Life is a welcoming and inclusive space for all caregivers to connect, share experiences, and learn about everyday family life.
Each session explores a different topic through relaxed discussions, interactive activities, and practical tips you can use at home. You’ll also learn about helpful community resources and supports.
This program is designed to build confidence, strengthen connections, and support you in your caregiving journey. Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program. Snacks and bus tickets are also available.

Nobody is Perfect Korean

Mondays

Starting July 20th (8 sessions) 9:30am-11:30am

Location: Pioneer, 5th floor, 4535 Kingsway

*The last two sessions will be held at 6140 McKercher Avenue

This program is designed to help you get to know your child better while equipping you with valuable skills and tools to boost your confidence as a parent. It's essential to remember that none of us are perfect – we all have our challenges. Nobody's Perfect!! Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program. Snacks and bus tickets are also available.

Parenting for Immigrants

Tuesdays

Starting July 21st (7 sessions total) 6:00pm-8:00pm

Location: 6140 McKercher Avenue, Burnaby

Raising children in a new country is a difficult task. Come and learn useful information on child development, the Canadian school system, child-care options, positive discipline, healthy nutrition and much more. Free child care available for children 18 months to 10 years with pre-registration. Snacks and bus tickets also available

Single Mother Support Group

Wednesdays (ongoing) 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Location: 6140 McKercher Avenue

Saturdays (ongoing) 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Location: 6140 McKercher Avenue

Come and meet other single moms, connect with resources, share stories and support in a friendly space while enhancing your independence. Free childcare is available. If your child is younger than 18 months or older than 10, we may not accommodate them in this program.
