About this Event

The BFL Kids Challenge is Burnaby Family Life’s annual, free family event that welcomes children and families to a day of play, games, and hands-on fun. Since 2012, it has offered families a friendly space to enjoy activities designed to spark imagination and confidence in kids.

Through themed stations, children age 3-12 explore different games, play-and-learn spots, and create memories. Families can also learn about Burnaby Family Life’s programs and services available and how to access them.

The event also brings local organizations and community partners together to share resources, offer activities, and take part in creating a fun experience for families.

2025 Highlights

Thank you to all the supporters, partners, organizers, and volunteers who helped make this year’s Kids Challenge possible!

Held at Stride Community School, the event welcomed nearly 300 participants — our biggest Kids Challenge so far. This year we also introduced a new theme the Superhero Training Camp, which turned the event into a imaginative “training day” where kids could step into the superhero world and complete small missions and challenges through creative play.
