Family Law Advocates provide information, advocacy, and referrals. An advocate can help you choose realistic and fair solutions to your family law matter by identifying your legal issues and prioritizing needs. Advocates may assist you by:
Helping you with applications and appeals for Legal Aid
Preparing you for a consensual dispute resolution (CDR)
Reviewing necessary forms and documentation for family law matters
Preparing questions and summaries of legal needs for duty counsel or a pro-bono lawyer
Interpreting substantive and procedural law
Accompanying you to court
