Discover Your Authentic Self

Qualified counsellors conduct a variety of psycho-educational and expressive groups each year. All groups are FREE ( donations welcome), limited to a maximum of ten women, and are 10 weeks in length. Two or two and a half hours each session. All participants will be interviewed in person by the facilitator(s) to determine eligibility and readiness for group work.

Eligibility: A history of sexual abuse, living in a stable environment, minimum three months abstinence if in recovery from substance abuse, 19 years of age or older. To register for the following groups call 604-659-2200


Introduction to Recovery- Level I

This is a phase one group for female survivors of childhood sexual abuse. If you want to learn more about skills to cope and the effects of abuse, then this ten-session group is for you. The group continues in Level II, and to Level III. It is therefore a long-term commitment. The group continues to level II and level III. It is therefore a long term commitment. Level I is a skill-building psycho-educational group. Level II provides more in depth work.

Winter Session

Introduction to Recovery - Level II

If you have previously attended a group for childhood sexual abuse and would like to join a Level II group in which you have an opportunity to tell your story in a safe, supportive environment, please call for more information. This is a process group and continues to Level III.

Spring Session Time 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Tuesdays, Starting April 1, 2008

 


Anxiety Busting

This group is designed to assist women in developing the skills to calm oneself when feeling anxious and out of control. Included in the skills are a variety of coping, grounding, and affect regulation tools to help you recognize and respond to disturbing experiences.

Activities involve the mind, heart, and body so become prepared to participate in a variety of exercises, breath work, art, visualizations and presentations by facilitators

Images For Healing

This art therapy psycho-educational group is for female survivors of sexual abuse who have some previous experience and skill in grounding and boundary setting. The intention of this spontaneous art therapy group is to discover underlying patterns and habits of being. The images that emerge lead the way to healing

Discover Your Authentic Self

A drama and movement therapy group for women who have experienced sexual, emotional and/or physical abuse. Through the healing power of drama, story and movement discover the real you! Unlock your potential, your strengths and your passions in order to celebrate and honour your unique authentic self. No previous drama or movement experience necessary. Participants area required to have a one to one counselor

Thursdays, Starting April 24, 2008
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
