Burnaby Family Life has issued a special plea for donations this year. The non-profit organization helps a myriad of vulnerable people in Burnaby, including children. In a letter e-mailed to the group's contacts, executive director Jeanne Fike talks of her personal experience with her adoptive granddaughter "Mary," who comes from a troubled home, and her wish to help more children like Mary.
