It’s
that time of year again, and the United Way Campaign is in full swing!
This year Burnaby Family Life Institute needs your support more than ever, so
we are inviting you to give generously.
United Way Pledge Card which gives you the opportunity to designate your
donation to the charity of your choice.
Please note that donations result in a charitable tax credit that
reduces the amount of Federal and Provincial income tax payable. For example,
donors receive a Federal tax credit of l6% on the first $200 and 29% on
donations above this amount. The result is that if you donate $100, the net cost
is $77.95 (or $2.95 per day) and if you donate $200 then the net cost is $155.90
(or $5.90 per day.)
In these troubled times of economic restraint and increased demand on our
services, we are faced with more serious challenges than ever in maintaining
services that strengthen disadvantaged families in our community. You can even
choose what kind of family you would like to support…
-
A teenage mother struggling to graduate from high
school
-
Pregnant women living in poverty and experiencing
multiple risks
-
Immigrant families from war-torn countries working
to build a new life
-
Young children whose mothers have been physically
and/or sexually assaulted
-
Young children whose families are new to Canada
-
Young children whose parents have separated or
divorced
-
A single father struggling to overcome his anger,
fear & depression
