Our staff have received individual recognition from local awards all the way to a medal from the Governor General of Canada.
Business Excellence: We'd like to thank the Burnaby Board of Trade for recognizing us as an outstanding organization offering quality professional community services to people in need of support. In 2011 we received the Not-For-Profit Organization of the Year Award.
Local Hero Awards: Several of our staff at Burnaby Family Life have been acknowledged for their years and sometimes decades of personal commitment to the community. We want to thank these staff for their incredible contribution to BFL and the clients they've helped with such dedication for so long.
Council on Accreditation Award: Burnaby Family Life is proud to have earned a special award from the COA for our commitment to upholding the highest professional standards of our sector. This award is a testament to the quality of services we offer and the qualifications, training and commitment of our staff and volunteers.
Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities: Burnaby Family Life was recognized with two exemplary awards by CARF for responding to the diversity of the community and building community capacity. These awards are not easily won and we are so very proud of our team for making this recognition possible.
Readers Choice Awards: Burnaby Family Life was voted as the "Best Community Service Organization" by the readers of the Burnaby NOW.
2011 Cultural DIVERSEcity Award - Not For Profit
Governor General's Commemorative Medal: Jeanne Fike, Executive Director of Burnaby Family Life, was awarded a Governor General's Commemorative Medal in recognition of her contribution to the community and to Canada.
PIRS Bright Lights Awards: In 2010, Pacific Immigrant Resources Society honoured Katalin Camara for being an inspirational leader in her community.
BIPT Welcoming and Inclusive Communities Award: In 2010, Gabi Pistor and Katalin Camara were both honoured by the Burnaby Intercultural Planning Table as “individuals who have contributed to and led the development of Burnaby and New Westminster as Welcoming and Inclusive Communities.”
